Having trouble collecting your thoughts? Try closing your eyes and just typing for 10 minutes once a day. Simple as.
why do this?
- improved touch typing and reduced eye strain!
- improved focus while working through new ideas.
- a way to give your dopamine-addled brain a little break.
what do I need to do this?

Touch typing (and a laptop) required.
You don't have to be that accurate, just accurate enough to spellcheck after you're done. keep those
janrdshands on home row! -
Blindfold optional, but it helps.
No peeking during the session. You can obsess over how dumb your thoughts are after the fact.

Use a timer!
10 minutes is all you need. Use your phone, or an egg timer, it really does not matter.

Lie down.
It's less distracting to just lie down, but you can sit in a chair if it's easier for you.
what do I do with the resulting text?
Honestly? Whatever you'd like. I like to save it in an Obsidian vault/journal, but you can also just... not do that. If you really want, you can post your funnier typos on our Discord1. Or just pop in to trade strategies for being mindful and productive 🙂.
